8.1 Universal Rights (All Users)
- Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to correction: Request updates to inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to deletion: Request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to restrict processing: Request that we limit how we use your data.
- Right to data portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

- Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
8.2 GDPR (European Economic Area & UK)
If you are located in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK Data Protection Act 2018, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our lawful bases for processing are consent, legitimate interests, and performance of a contract, depending on the activity.
8.3 CCPA / CPRA (California, USA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:
- The right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used.
- The right to delete personal information.
- The right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
- The right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information.
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
EmproIT does not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not transfer user data for unauthorized purposes.
8.4 India DPDP Act, 2023
If you are located in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) applies. As a Data Fiduciary, EmproIT processes your personal data lawfully and transparently. You have the rights to access, correction, completion, updating, erasure, grievance redressal, and to nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity. Children's data (users under 18) is processed only with verifiable parental consent.
8.5 How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of the rights above, email [email protected] with the subject line "Data Subject Request" and a brief description of your request. We will:
- Acknowledge your request within 7 business days.
- Respond substantively within 30 days of receipt (extendable by an additional 30 days for complex requests, with notice to you).
- Verify your identity before disclosing or deleting personal data, to protect against fraudulent requests.
- Process your request free of charge unless it is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
9. Browser Extensions (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
This section covers EmproIT's browser extensions distributed through the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, and Mozilla Firefox Add-ons. Our first published extension is "Emproit Theme Toggle" (a website theme switcher).
9.1 What Our Extensions Collect
Our browser extensions collect no personal data. Specifically, they:
- Do not collect personally identifiable information (name, email, address, phone, government IDs, etc.).
- Do not collect browsing history, page content, page URLs, search queries, or any other form of web activity.
- Do not use analytics, telemetry, or remote logging of any kind.
- Do not make any network requests to EmproIT servers or third-party services.
- Do not load or execute any remote code. All code is bundled inside the extension package and reviewed by the respective Web Store before publication.
- Do not read, modify, or transmit financial information, authentication information, personal communications, health information, or location data.
9.2 What Our Extensions Store Locally
Our extensions may store the user's own preferences (such as theme choice or keyboard
shortcut configuration) using the browser's
chrome.storage.sync or chrome.storage.local APIs. This data
stays on your device (or, with storage.sync, syncs only across
your own browser profile via your browser vendor's account — never to EmproIT). You can
clear this data at any time from your browser's extension settings.
9.3 Permissions and Justification
Each permission we request is used solely to deliver the extension's stated functionality:
| Permission | Why We Need It |
|---|---|
storage |
To save the user's own settings (e.g., selected theme) on the user's device. No data is transmitted off-device. |
activeTab |
To apply the user's chosen theme to the currently active tab when the user clicks the extension toolbar icon. Access is granted by the user's explicit click and is limited to that single tab and that single moment. |
host_permissions for http://*/* and
https://*/* |
To allow the theme switcher to apply user-chosen styles on any website the user visits. The extension does not read site contents — it only injects the user's own CSS preferences. |
commands (optional keyboard shortcut) |
To let the user toggle themes with a configurable keyboard shortcut (such as
Alt+Shift+T), without requiring a click. |
9.4 Chrome Web Store "Limited Use" Attestation
Specifically, EmproIT will not:
- Transfer user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the extension's UI, or as required by law.
- Use user data to serve advertisements, including personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.
- Allow humans to read user data unless we obtain affirmative consent from specific users, it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required for compliance with applicable law.
10. Android Apps (Google Play Store)
This section covers EmproIT's Android applications distributed through the Google Play Store. It is intended to satisfy the Google Play User Data policy and the Data Safety disclosure requirements that all Play Store apps must meet.
10.1 Per-App Data Safety Disclosures
Each EmproIT Android app discloses its specific data collection, sharing, and security practices in that app's Data Safety section on its Google Play Store listing. The Data Safety section is the authoritative, up-to-date source for the categories of data each app collects (if any), the purposes for which the data is used, whether the data is shared with third parties, and the security practices applied.
This Privacy Policy supplements (and does not replace) those per-app Data Safety disclosures. Where this policy and an app's Data Safety section appear to conflict, the Data Safety section is authoritative for that specific app.
10.2 Universal Commitments for All EmproIT Android Apps
Across every Android app we publish, EmproIT commits to the following:
- We do not sell user data. Personal and sensitive user data collected by our apps is never sold to third parties.
- We do not transfer user data for unauthorized purposes. Any third-party services we use (such as crash reporting or analytics, where disclosed) process data only for the limited, declared purpose specified in that app's Data Safety section and under contractual data-processing agreements.
- We use data only for the disclosed purposes. User data is processed solely to deliver, maintain, and improve the features described in the app and on the Play Store listing.
- We secure data in transit and at rest. Data transmitted from our apps is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Server-side data is stored with industry-standard encryption and access controls.
- We honour deletion requests. Users may request deletion of their data via in-app account-deletion flows (where applicable) or by emailing [email protected].
- We comply with the Google Play Families Policy for any app rated for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the applicable age in your jurisdiction) without verifiable parental consent.
10.3 Permissions Used by EmproIT Android Apps
Each EmproIT Android app requests only the permissions strictly required for its declared functionality. Permission justifications are listed inside each app and on its Play Store listing. Sensitive permissions (such as location, microphone, camera, contacts, or SMS) are requested only when needed for a specific user-facing feature, only with the user's explicit consent at runtime, and only for the duration that feature is in use.
11. Children's Privacy
Our Site and services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete such information.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes:
